How to Plan a Party for Picky Eaters

11190488_S-125x125Most people know someone who is an extremely picky eater, and while it’s usually up to them to find something they like to eat, the responsibility falls on you when you’re planning a party. Of course, you’re never going to please everyone, but if you know your guest list will include several picky eaters, there are a few things you can do to make the meal better for everyone involved. Take a look at the following tips and you’ll be able to please even the pickiest of eaters.

The most important thing to remember is to keep it simple. Don’t include anything on the menu that you haven’t heard of or that you wouldn’t try yourself, unless you happen to be a picky eater as well. Try to have a variety of options, but offer simple versions of popular dishes, rather than meals that contain too many ingredients and components that may turn people away.

If you’re worried about making someone feel awkward by serving them a meal they can’t or won’t eat, provide a buffet instead. Allow everyone to pick and choose what they want to eat, rather than forcing them to eat a specific entrée. You could also skip main meals altogether and just offer snacks and appetizers depending on what type of event you’re planning.

Striking a balance between offering too many options and not offering enough can be tricky, but we’re here to help. Don’t try to please everybody, but don’t neglect people who are vegetarians or who have particular eating habits either.
